You wrote Sherlock fic AND you have used a Suits icon - if I was there I'd fistbump you my mutual LJ friend :) Hey it's me, err, Ally, we talked like a long long time ago For some crazy reason I started reading your Tumbler then realized I knew you - ha! So just saying hi
Browsing - but Tumblr is looking pretty good these days - for fic I still say LJ but for general fandom spazzing and socializing/opinionating I think Tumblr is probably better Looser format or something You like it? :) you reccommend y/n? You active in any fandoms right now? I'm deep in RL - have been forever - so haven't even been able to express any Sherlock or Suits appreciation
It can be either really good or really bad - sometimes both. There are no mods to keep people in line. Your experience really just depends on the people you surround yourself with. It's also faster paced and more id-like. There are benefits to the slower nature of LJ. There are also benefits to the faster pace of tumblr.
But, yes. Generally speaking, I'd recommend giving it a try. :3
I'm in a lot of fandoms, actually! I'm still reading some NCIS fics here and there, some Star Trek fics, some Glee fics. Also, Avengers, Hawaii Five-0, Doctor Who, Suits, Inception, Supernatural, The Losers, Leverage, X-Men: First Class, and some other stuff. I'm kind of a fandom whore. :3
Wow no mods??! But there has got to be a general mod for gross misbehavior right? 'id-like' lol I like that description Ok well if I take up Tumblr or rather have the time there, I will give it a whirl
Fandom-whoring is a time honored Internet stance, please feel valued and respected I am also a fandom-whore in that many fandoms have come and gone but lingered for me I think of myself as a serial monogamist in fandom, and Trek is my high school sweetheart whom I still take out for a whirl and is the only one I write fic for (and I have no idea where all that came from) Hmm I don't watch a lot of TV so my chances of getting into fandom is lower But recently, very unwell so on medical leave and watching TV I've never seen more than an episode of NCIS but I suppose there's good fic there? Leverage, love the show, don't know much about the fandom But Hawaii Five-0 what's that on? I assume it's in Hawaii, and it has cops, but that's all. It's on after the Mentalist here so I saw like five minutes before I nodded off in an exhausted stupor
Yeah, it can get pretty gross if you're not following the right people. As always with the internet, people have no filter.
I like the high school sweetheart analogy, that is a+. NCIS is a mixed bag; when it's bad it's REALLY BAD, but when it's good, it's REALLY REALLY GOOD. The show is like that too. The Leverage fandom is pretty laid back, but the fic is pretty extreme: either really good or really meh. Hawaii Five-0 is on CBS, and it's actually in the same universe as NCIS and NCIS:LA. All of those shows crossover with each other with minor characters, aka, someone from one show goes on vacation to the location of another show, etc. H50 has been described as Dukes of Hazzard trying to be 24 while partying at the beach. There are lots of feelings, and the two main characters are so married it almost physically hurts. SO. MARRIED.
