I got this from...someone's journal. IDK where. It just looked like something thinky to do, and I have writer's block. So.
1. What's your favorite pairing to write? Is this the same as your OTP?
God, you're asking me to chose? I thought the point of being in a shit-ton of fandoms is not choosing? I don't really have a 100% OTP - I'm actually kind of flexible, and usually have multiple ships that I'll read per fandom. I like writing Kirk/McCoy, Gibbs/DiNozzo (and Kort/DiNozzo), Arthur/Merlin, Steve/Tony, and, well, Sam/Dean. Ahem.
2. Which is the strangest pairing you've written?
Ziva/McGee? And while I hate Ziva (no, really, I do), I don't actually think it's that terribly crazy. Just, not canon.
I can't really think of any pairing that I've written that would be crazy, though that's probably because I don't really write crack. Unless it's for Supernatural. I'll write crack for that.
3. What pairing would you love to write but are afraid to and why?
Hm, a couple, actually. Kirk/Spock, perhaps. I just don't think I'm any good at writing Spock, which is why most of my fic involving him languishes on my harddrive.
Mostly, though, it's simply that I haven't gotten around to writing/finishing different pairings. I'm kind of flighty, and just coming off of the period of time in which I lost my mind. So.
I'm pretty terrified of attempting to write straight up humor. I have an odd sense of what's funny, and I'm used to telling jokes that no one gets. (Those this may have something to do with them being fandom jokes, but.) So, yeah, I'm afraid to write myself/humor?
4. What's your favorite piece of your own work and why?
God, a favorite? I dunno. I think maybe Dark Chocolate and Red Wine, because it was the first long!fic (well, long for me, anyway) I'd ever finished, and because it introduced me to my OC Kacia Noor. Who is awesome, and who somehow found her way into one of original stories, which is why there will probably not be anything more in the universe.
If not DC&RW, then perhaps my tree!Merlin fic. I could say Lost Boy (the stars breathe in the empty spaces) but that fic was more of an emotional purging than something that I enjoyed, so.
5. What's your least favorite piece of your own work and why?
God. There's this thing I did on one of the kink memes - the STXI one - and I haven't finished it, and I kind of hate it, and it doesn't even have any sex in it. And I did it anon, so I'm not telling.
Also, most of my Gundam Wing fics. Ugh. Melodrama.
6. Which piece of your writing most expresses what you believe to be your writing style?
Either DC&RW, the tree!Merlin fic, or Lost Boy. Because I tend to write in 'lyrical' passive tense. Sometimes it works better than others.
7. Which piece of your writing do you believe to be most out of character with your writing style?
Re: Gundam Wing. And the Naruto stuff, though in my defense, I was like, fourteen when I wrote those.
8. Do you prefer to write for yourself or for other people?
Myself. I haven't done enough in my life for myself, and I'm not going to let that extend to my fav hobby. I like hearing other people's ideas though, and I like looking at prompts and imagining where they'd take me, but I don't sign up for things like fic exchanges. I don't want or need that kind of pressure, and besides, I always get writer's block if I'm assigned something.
9. How do you feel about comments and constructive criticism?
I love comments. I don't get a lot of them, sure, but everyone likes seeing them in their inbox. And while I get embarrassed if someone catches something I've missed, I'd much rather have it pointed out to me so that I can fix it/address it.
Though I don't hold with flamers. The last time someone flamed me, I lost my shit at them and wound up getting a lot of shit directed at them from my readers. I was totes classy way back when. Yeah.
10. Do you prefer to write slash/het/both/everything? Is this the same as what you like to read?
Um, I tend to write slash in fanfiction, with some het, and femslash in original stuff, with some het. I think that it's because I go for action fandoms, which, sadly, have less strong women. And because I like writing fics about best friends who fuck, and there aren't a whole lot of BFF man/woman team ups that don't have executive "UST" smeared all over them. If they left them alone, I'd be more inclined to ship them. (Though I do have love for certain canon ships: Gambit and Rogue, Hardison and Parker (with Eliot! OT3, right there!), and STXI!Spock/Uhura come to mind. And Sam/Jess, Kirk/Gaila, and Zoe Wash. And Clay/Aisha from The Losers. <3 And some others.)
