My others are a bit more obvious towards Kirk/McCoy, but I wanted this to be like a tiny piece of dark chocolate, smooth and a little bitter. :D

That's one of the things I liked about it. His life is still disjointed and it's not perfect, which probably would've been easier to write. Anyway, if Bones' life wasn't a little bitter (no matter what version he is) would he be as much fun to play with?

I do the same thing with my characters at work. When I'm doing some boring task that doesn't require brain power, I start analyzing my characters and thinking up ways to ruin their lives. ;)
