In some fic, I write Winona as a mother that didn't know what was going on with her son for various reasons and then tries to reestablish a relationship with Jim. In others she's absent and Jim wants nothing to do with her. It depends on how messed up I want Jim to be. LOL
The darker story I was considering was based on the movie Sweeney Todd. So it'd be AU and someone suggested mirror!verse though I know nothing about it. (is a total Trek newbie)
