(Lurking while looking at your fic. Boy I feel creepy.)
I think the SG-1 Sam!hate was due to several factors, one being her horrid character-introducing-dialogue in the pilot (not the actress; just the terrible writing of a woman character by what will always remain a boy's club of writers). The re-cut pilot is sooo much better. Then there's the third episode, "Emancipation," which was Sam's first real starring episode. It's quite atrocious. (That episode is the only episode of the series where fandom goes, "First rule about Emancipation: don't talk about Emancipation.")
Sam really got the short end of the stick early on.
And then the shipping with Jack started. (Which never made any sense to me, as they have zero sexual chemistry. They are pretty people, who care about each other a lot, but neither one is willing to give up their career. Besides the fact that, again, they would make a terrible couple. The writers then turned Carter all dewy-eyed in lurve in season four (and beyond), yet Jack remained nothing but meh the entire time. I loved Sam like I loved the rest of SG-1, but it always annoyed me the writers had her so focused on being with Jack. She was a better character than that.)

Anyway.
I think I just wanted to talk about SG-1.
