Vidder's Notes:

Okay, so. This vid. I’ve had this song (which, yes, is the same song that my tumblr blog title comes from) stuck in my head ever since Kurt’s S2 storyline started to gain momentum, because it’s perfect. I didn’t have the resources to do it before, and I wanted to wait until I got to a point that I thought it would make sense — until at least part of his storyline (aka, his desire for someone to share his life with) was resolved. And, lo! The Kiss happened!

Now that I have a MacBook, I have access to video editing software that doesn’t suck, and I can fool around with stuff. After taking myself on a few trial runs, I spent all day busting out this, even though I had a final today and really should have been doing other things.

It’s not perfect, because I’m still new at this; I haven’t done anything terribly fancy. Part of that is because I don’t have the skills, yet, to do anything terribly fancy, and part of that is because I like simple cuts and edits in fanvids that I watch. *shrugs* What can I say? I like my fanvids like I like my movies: Simple, and with actions that speak for themselves.

Kurt's always been my favorite character on Glee, because even when he messes up, he's still so human. Chris Colfer gives Kurt those little moments that make you remember that the character is sixteen, and scared, and messed up, and learning. We've seen him grow up so much during the series. We've seen him go from the boy who got tossed in dumpsters to the young man who stood up to his bully. We see his struggle reflected in Blaine, who has been dealing with the same sort of issues: Figuring out how he fits inside his own skin and finding out who he is. Blaine's past has gone largely unremarked upon by the show, but we know that he had similar difficulties to Kurt at his old school and that his father isn't as supportive as he could be. (Is it any wonder Blaine latched onto the idea of being bi?) Kurt has grown to be a pillar of strength for the both of them, and I love it.

tl;dr: So. This is Kurt Hummel. The hero of our story.

This is just beautiful. *runs to watch it again* Yep, BEAUTIFUL!
The clips you used go so well with the song. The song, is amazing and I'm glad you used it because I had never heard it before.

Love how the applause goes over the scene with the kiss, classic ;-) and how you used the pretty hand holding/tree scene as an epilogue of sorts.

I hope to see more Kurt videos from you in the future, you have a great handle on his character and his story!

As a fellow Kurt fan I recommend you post this at [livejournal.com profile] porcelain_fans. Where other kurtsies will enjoy it too!

This was so, so good! I love Regina Spektor, and this song was just a lovely choice that fits very well with Kurt's storyline. Putting it all together this way gives a sense of real pathos and power to the story - and for all that Kurt has gone through, for all the pain and anger and fear, to have it end on such a lovely note really brought it all into a new place, where all of that was taking him to somewhere good. Lovely and thoughtful and so well done!

Thank you! I fell in love with this song when I first heard it, and then I started watching Glee, and it was freakin' perfect. And in the end, Kurt and Blaine can be heroes together. BECAUSE THEY'RE BOYFRIENDS. /still not over it

I would have liked it even more if it had ended with some scene of Kurt being strong by himself. But, still, thank you for this. It's very beautiful, and yeah, Kurt's my kind of hero.

Thank you! I was going more for the fact that they're being strong together, but I get what you're saying. I'm still working with some stuff, as far as how I want to say what I want in a vid, etc. :3
