Aithor's Note: Doom xover.This is just a tiny bite-sized fic to satisfy my muse, since I'm too busy with my other xover to do the Reaper!Bones concept justice. So I wrote an itty-bitty one instead.

 

 

Waking Up


Reaper woke up everyday in Leonard McCoy's bed.
 

No, wait, that wasn't right.
 

John Grimm woke up every morning in Leonard McCoy's bed.
 

That wasn't right either.
 

Leonard McCoy woke up every sunrise in Leonard McCoy's bed.
 

That wasn't it....
 

Bones woke up in Leonard McCoy's bed everyday at daybreak.
 

There.
 

He ignored the part of him that whispered that something was still off.

Messed up Jim is fun. So is smart and competent Jim. Actually most versions of him are fun. Though sometimes I really wonder about the bunnies I get.

I'd love to write the Sweeney Todd AU but I haven't figured out the plot of it. I keep thinking I should make it in the era of Trek and then I keep thinking historical AU would be awesome. But I'd get bogged down in the details. And that fic would be so dark and kinky. o.O

Smart Jim is definitely a HUGE plus. He's a genius, dammit, not a moron. Starfleet wouldn't just hand over their flagship to an idiot.

Hm, historical details are tricky. That's why I'm hesitant about my Roman AU, but I shall work through it. And, Sweeny Todd is mostly psychological, so I'm sure that you can get away with being vague about certain things. *cheerleads*

I try not to make Jim an idiot. He will be unobservant (like in my first Trek fic). He can be foolish. But I don't want him to be stupid. That just makes me go nuts. The movie even SAYS he's a genius!

Even if I told myself I could be vague on the details, I'd start this HUGE research project. I was thinking about putting it in 1800s San Fran and that era is a serious interest of mine so I'm sure I'd be doing months of research before I even considered starting it.

He can be a little oblivious, but never stupid. He did graduate from the academy in three years, after all. :D

I've definitely embarked on huge research projects for fics before. I did that for my Harry Potter fic that never got off the ground. :(

That sounds like m life, but with 'study' instead of 'work'.

I think that's one of the reasons I never wrote HP. I never had enough background research and I didn't want to read the books over and over and take notes on them. I thought it'd ruin the fun of them.
