Author's Note: I don't know why I wrote this, I just did it. I haven't written poetry in ages, much less poem!fic. And for Sherlock? What the actual fuck! I am startled and confused by this turn of events. Especially since I am supposed to be working on that magic!AU or my Inception bigbang. :(
Two men meet by chance
On a cold autumn morn:
One in a long dark coat that danced,
And the other with a jumper well worn.
A marvelous meeting of two minds,
And of the most fortunate kind,
For London is expensive
(And they are both rather lonely.)
And Oh! for on this intrepid day,
Our hero has met his stray;
A kindly man with a soldier's gait
Has come and stole his heart away.
Together through London they roam,
Through the endless clues they comb,
And despite all winding ways,
They solve their cases and return home.
Burn! Burn! Burn! cries our hated villain,
But in the darkest night,
Our heroes shine twice as bright;
And when their eyes meet,
Betwixt them they greet
Their last farewell to all
With a brow in a quirk
And the slight hint of a smirk;
They turn and face the day.
