"You make me happy when skies are gray"

1. My thanks to everyone who offered their support the other day. I'll reply to you individually when I find the time. I love you all.
2. The funeral was yesterday. I held it together pretty well, right up until the end when we all stood up and sang our farewell with "You are my Sunshine," which my mother used to sing to me when I was little. I bawled like a baby, but it was good, you know, to get it out.
3. I haven't written anything in a week. It feels weird. I have so much to do, but just can't...bring myself to do it. I'll start up again soon, but for now, I'm just going to listen to the Glee soundtrack on repeat. :/
4. Later this week, I'm getting in a car with my mom and driving to Arkansas to see the other side of my family for the first time in a long time. I still haven't met my new baby cousins, and I apparently need to smack my coustwin over the head for his latest bout of stupidity - I can't believe I shared a crib with someone who pulls such moronic stunts - so that'll be fun. And by fun, I mean "like having my teeth pulled all at once" with extra bonus of crazy religious people! :D
5. I work with some of the sweetest people on the planet. I told Steven I needed a hug, and he didn't even hesitate to give me one. Then he convinced one of the tables he was serving to buy him dinner, and then he kidnapped me to the back so that he could force me to eat half the very expensive sushi thing he ordered with said customer's money. <3 (And it was very, very good.)

Date: 2010-12-13 08:35 pm (UTC)And I'll be traveling by you next week...I shall wave as I go by :-) since it sounds like you won't be home.
I started a new Shifter verse last night...and I'm going to make a list of what I need to write, what to write, and plan to write later tonight...so I have ideas...and maybe an actual like...plan.

Date: 2010-12-14 02:02 am (UTC)Aw. :( Sucks that we can't manage to be in the same place at the same time.
Also, I just got your card! Like, literally, the mail lady is going rounds in our neighborhood...at nine o'clock at night, apparently... and I got your card! :D LOL @ you calling me Ms. Ava. :P Thank you! You're right; one day I will resemble an adult. ;)

Date: 2010-12-14 03:09 am (UTC)I wouldn't be able to stop anyway since I'll be with the moms and the brats. We're going to Columbus for Christmas...heading down on the 23rd and back around the 31st I believe...as far as I know we're driving straight through both ways. I don't even get to see my cousin and her husband that live in Cummings.
Um, why is your mail lady going around at 9pm? But anyway...awesome! I love that you got it! Of course you're Ms. Ava! Well lord knows according to my family I only resemble an adult...I'm not actually one.

Date: 2010-12-15 12:08 am (UTC)One of my friends lives in Columbus. :) Also, I'm heading to AR on the 16 and coming back on the 19. Ouch on the driving, for both of us.
Our mail is really erratic. I mean, sometimes it comes really early in the morning, and other times it comes as I get off of the evening shift at work. :D

Date: 2010-12-15 05:22 pm (UTC)Why did you need to go to the DMV? I mean I know why I had to go the other day...but why did you have to go?
*makes grabby hands* Come visit your friend and SAVE ME! LOL yeah...I need to like find out when we're leaving and everything so I can tell my aunt. And figure out how to pack when some things are at my gramma's and some are at my house. I think we're leaving on the 23rd and coming home on the 31st.
That is just...bizarre. Anyway...we'll attempt to catch up at some point. Try to survive your trip!

Date: 2010-12-16 12:09 am (UTC)I hate the DMV. I mean, I think I'm permanently scarred from that time me and Mom when there and the guy behind the desk basically refused to do his job because apparently the fact that I have a different last name than my mom morally offended him. I am not even kidding. He demanded that my mom produce official papers from her divorce with my dad and her marriage certificate for her and the Step-dad, because the fact that my name doesn't match hers apparently warrants airport security questioning...in order for me to get a learner's ID. >:| *headdesk*
Actually, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be in Rome on those days. :/ Ack, my stupid spread out family. LOL.
Hopefully I'll be able to survive. Hopefully.

Date: 2010-12-16 02:30 am (UTC)Seriously? Holy fuck! Man and I thought it was bad having to explain to teachers that yes, that really IS my mom even though we have different names and yes she really can take me home. Goddess and I also don't look anything LIKE my mom.
Awww, yeah well like I said...it's not like I would have been allowed to like stop and see you. *sighs* It looks like I won't be able to see a friend of mine next week because between her schedule and my schedule...we've got no time in common.
Aww I hope so. I'd hate to lose you. *hugs*

Date: 2010-12-15 12:05 am (UTC)Well, no, I mean that's about as much fun as I'm going to have when I'm with the crazy religious side of the family. :/ Actually, my coustwin is being an idiot because he wants to get married.
He's the only boy I have ever met who has been obsessed with getting married since forever. I mean, when he was five and people asked what he was going to grow up to be, he'd answer "married". Which is fine and all, except that he's only three months older than me, and the girl he's with is younger, and it's just a disaster waiting to happen especially since his mom's on her fourth husband and his sister is on her second. (She, by the way, is twenty-one. She has two kids.) So you can see why this is going to be so much fun.
I know I bitch a lot about them, but I do love them all. They're just...very trying to be around for long periods of time.

Date: 2010-12-15 01:14 am (UTC)Sounds like he's not got the best examples with the family. ^^;
Good luck with your visit <3 Patience and deep calming breaths. ;)
