So, I'm a total dork who occasionally types in her own user name into Google because, well, duh. While I love you, I want to make sure that I haven't wound up on some someone's shit list over an off-handed comment and then me not know about it so that I could fix it.

So I typed in snowdarkred .

And there were options.

I admit I fail at technology forever, so I'm asking you all: Does this mean anything? Is it a sign?

It is a very strange experience, googling yourself (either your real name or your fan pseudonym)...it's so strange what does and does not show up. Especially with fannish stuff, you may think your in this little fandom bubble, but it's amazing what search engines can dig up.

Evidently there's another jenna marianne from Finland that likes doing online Karaoke; who knew there was such a thing!?!

Googling my real name is pretty useless; all that comes up is someone else's poetry and a bunch of Arthurian legends. And cars. Googling my username is pretty surreal, though, because stuff actually pops up with it, and it's strange to look at something and think, 'Huh, this is what people see when they get curious about me.' And then I freak out about the idea that people are, in any way, curious about me. Because I have no idea why I would be interesting enough to warrant getting a drop down menu/whatever for my username on freakin' Google. :/

For a while, I thought that maybe it was just my computer, since I've googled myself before in order to find some of my accounts on various websites - I always use the same username wherever, so if it says snowdarkred it's probably me. I thought maybe it was just popping up because I've searched it before. But I hung out with a friend of mine tonight (food! shopping! geekery!) and I snagged her computer to show her a Glee video, and while I was on, I tried googling myself again...and the same thing popped up. So it's actually a thing. And I think I'm so flail-y about it because, most of the time, I forget that there are more than five people reading this journal. I mean, I'm very, very far from being, God forbid, a BNF, but I do have people who have friended me for whatever reason (you included ;D) who read this and it's just...strange? I mean, I'm not that interesting. I ramble. I bitch. I occasionally post fic that is halfway approaching decent. /o\ *is the most useless person ever*

Yeah, I'm still not super into journaling for this very reason; usually I don't have much to say/write, and when I do, it's weird to think anyone would be interested. What a trip! (mostly I'm on LJ for the fanfic: fic comms, rec comms, search comms)
