Fic snippet: Exigent, Reaper!Bones

Author's note: Another Reaper!Bones ficlet, because I can't get him out of my head. :D Yay! (Also, I've started on a proper Reaper!Bones fic, but it won't be done for a while. I've got three sentences so far.) Crossposted wherever.

Exigent

 

He watched as Jim's wide eyes met his. His Captain swallowed harshly, the sound audible to his sensitive hearing, but it went unnoticed by any of the other crew members standing in the transporter room. It filled him with a sort of possessive joy to know that he heard and saw things about Jim that no one else did, that no one else was capable of.
 

Well, almost everyone. That damn Vulcan was in the room and watching his Jim, and that just wasn't right. Wasn't satisfactory, wasn't okay.
 

But he took in the fact that even with that green-blooded bastard here, the weight of the Other Vulcan's epic friendship with the Other Jim hanging over them, Jim's eyes never left his.
 

He nodded to Scotty to begin the transport, and the Scot complied with only a slight flicker of hesitation. The room was mostly silent, but he could hear them all breathing.
 

“Bones,” Jim said. He's eyes were so damn blue. “Please. You don't have to do this. There could be another way—”
 

“No,” he said. “It has to be done.”
 

“But—”
 

Reaper's eyes never left Jim's, even as the world dissolved around him.

When you say that your working on a Reaper fic are you using this snippit as part of your story? Because this would be a great tease for it. ^^

Nah, my Reaper!Bones fic is completely different (sorta) from this fic and the other ones. This is just something that occurred to me. I love Doom. Even if it's a Horribly Awful Terrible Bad Movie. Or maybe because it is a H.A.T.B.M. IDK.

*Groans* Why do you do this to me?! Love Reaper!Bones. Love. Love especially when he's observant and jealous and possessive, which is kind of how I read all Reaper!Bones fic. I have special glasses for taking overt blurbs and seeing what I want. But I adore it when it's straight up said *coughhintcough* :D

This is so intriguing (I need a new word I feel like I'm wearing that one out, apt though it is) I thought Jim and Spock were beaming in at first, then I thought they were beaming out and then you said it was Bones! Arrrgh! So excited. So obviously he's beaming somewhere his special skills would be most helpful. I would LOVE to see where it was more his uber!survival skills mixed with his doctor skills. I see a lot of fic where he's beaming down to be soldiery (so I make up words, sue me ;)!) But I like Jim being the 'throws himself in danger, badass martyr one'.

So it would be awesome if Bones was beaming down to a situation where his extra chromosome body would compensate for damage for something in the atmosphere/complex/planet that the others couldn't handle. And he was beaming down to be his uber MD self. And THAT's why Jim is begging for another way, and also why he and Spock are not accompanying. Ahem. I could go on. Damn. It's always bad to ask me my thoughts. I'm a wordy bitch. XD So yes. That's my take on what's happening here.

I will never complain that you write too much, darlin', you leave such awesome comments. :D I love possessive Bones, and I just spent the weekend rewatching my favorite scenes in Doom (AKA, any one with Karl in it)("Don't tell me you let a fine-looking piece of ass like that get away from you, Reaper." "She's my sister." "No shit." Why, yes, I have it memorized, why are you looking at me like that?) and fangirling the hell out of it.

I may have started a proper Reaper!Bones fic. One longer than my other two. And I haven't seen a plot quite like the one that occurred to me..... >:D

I love this take on reaper!Bones.
I feel the idea of a jealous!bones (over Jim/Spock destined friendship) is underexploited. Particularly in the K/Mc fandom. So combine that with Reaper and you get a Possesive!Bones.

I would love it if you would expand on this snippet.

^.^ Thank you! I'm currently working on a full length Reaper!Bones fic, and yes, there will definitely be Possessive!Bones. Because Possesive!Bones is awesome.
