wordcraft

i like crafting words
mixing and matching
spread them all out on the floor
and arrange them like a puzzle
see how they fit together
see what damage they do
throw them like knives
stones
silence them with flames
use them to blot out the light
i like crafting words
and destroying them too
they twist and turn
under my careful prodding
i change their meanings and uses
and mold them how i want them
i arrange them in orders
that make others dizzy
i lay them in paths
that lead others astray
i mix them with water
and watch you guzzle them down
and at the end of the day
they’re all just the words they were
before i decided to play

Seriously, if you ever decide to publish a book with your own poems (which you totally should, because hon, you're awesome) I would buy it in a heart-beat. No matter how much it costs, no matter how long the shipping takes, no matter what seedy website I need to order it from.

For the last year I was working on a graduation present for a friend of mine. It was a small notebook I bought and filled with positive word, quotes, pictures and poems. Just wonderful things I found and decided that she should have. And this poem is one thing that I instantly would have written down in the notebook, because it's just so damn lovely ♥

and at the end of the day
they’re all just the words they were
before i decided to play

Oh, thank you! I don't think anyone would be interested in reading a book of poems by ME, but it's nice to think about. :)
