wordcraft
i like crafting words
mixing and matching
spread them all out on the floor
and arrange them like a puzzle
see how they fit together
see what damage they do
throw them like knives
stones
silence them with flames
use them to blot out the light
i like crafting words
and destroying them too
they twist and turn
under my careful prodding
i change their meanings and uses
and mold them how i want them
i arrange them in orders
that make others dizzy
i lay them in paths
that lead others astray
i mix them with water
and watch you guzzle them down
and at the end of the day
they’re all just the words they were
before i decided to play

Date: 2011-07-24 08:42 pm (UTC)For the last year I was working on a graduation present for a friend of mine. It was a small notebook I bought and filled with positive word, quotes, pictures and poems. Just wonderful things I found and decided that she should have. And this poem is one thing that I instantly would have written down in the notebook, because it's just so damn lovely ♥
and at the end of the day
they’re all just the words they were
before i decided to play
