Read and by astounded by my nerdy geekishness!

Merlin
- This is one of my current shiny new interests. I've already written two fics for it, and I'm working on a third that's threatening to turn into one of  my angst epics, with a grand side of DESTINY, because, dude, this is Merlin. And it wouldn't be the same without dire predictions and gratuitous slash subtext.

Star Trek XI - I desperately want the goddamn sequel. Any minute now. Really, any. Damn. Minute. I've got a couple of fics on my hard-drive that I'm thinking about starting up again, including my ghost!fic and a rewrite of my Matrix fusion thing. Which, yeah, I totes shouldn't have started in the first place because I knew that that would go badly when I did it. I just...couldn't help myself. But, I do want to do it, I just have to write it all before I can because I can't even think about it without cringing. Also, it's not written in the style that I prefer to write in, and while it's good to experiment, I just can't keep it up. So, yeah. Eventually, I'll get around back to this. And some other stuff, like my partly finished His Dark Materials fusion and that angst fic. All of this is Kirk/McCoy.

Star Trek XI RPF - I actually have a WIP on the kink meme somewhere that really needs to be finished, but I got distracted by completing Lost Boy, and just couldn't do it. I have to put aside the domestic violence fic to finish the rape-aftermath fic. Because that's how I roll, and I have a limit to how much angst I can deal with. But, it is on my mind. Who knows, I may even finish it one day.

Supernatural - Oh, SPN. I would say that you corrupt me, but I was already a dirtyminded hobag before you came into my life. I have some WIPs for this fandom on my laptop, including another epic!angst!fic (with genderfuck! ALWAYS-A-GIRL!SAM FTW!), an Iron Man crossover (Tony/Sam, because in every other one I've seen, it's been either Tony/Dean or Sam/Dean/Tony, and that's just not the same; Sam deserves some lovin' as well, especially since hating Sam seems to be a fandom sport to some people). Also, a follow up to There's No Such Thing As Unicorns, which I'm titling Hitting the Pleasure Button Until You Die, because that's fucking hilarious. Shut up, I have a twisted since of humor.

Supernatural RPF - Ahem. Well, someone (*cough*high_flyer87*cough*) gave me a Misha/Jared plot bunny, and there desperately needs to be some more Misha/Jared in the world, because they are adorable, and given to groping each other in public. Well, Jared gropes everyone in public, and so does Misha, but that just makes them more adorable. Except that I'm kind of OCD about timelines (they have to be perfect, dammit, perfect) and I haven't been able to write anymore without thinking, "Wait, which con did that happen at? And this? When did this happen? ARWG!!" So, I have it started, but then I got scared by the years and years of "canon" that I'd have to shift through to satisfy my OCD side.

NCIS - I got nothin'. Sorry. I haven't watched the show in a year, and as much as I love Tony and Gibbs and Abby and all, I just don't see that changing. However, I still have some WIPs that I might finish. There are some more installments on the DC&RW, but I'm hesitant about that because Kacia Noor somehow found her way into my original TV show, which I actually want to get made some day, and the second big fic is told from her point of view and deals with a lot of her backstory. I don't want to confuse issues when I, hopefully, get things moving. So, I have stuff, it's just not something that I think I'm going to share. (On another note: I'm up for an award for a Ziva/McGee fic! Which is, well, surprising! Considering how much I hate Ziva.)

Stargate SG-1 - I'm a totally n00b to the fandom, but Jesusfuck, what's with all the Sam-hate? She is fuckin' badass! I'm only about half-way through S3, and I'm already sick of it. This may or may not be because I don't see what's so fantastic about Jack's dick in the first place. I love me some Sam/Daniel. But, I do have a Jack/Daniel idea that someone else has no doubt done before. I also have a genderfuck always-a-boy!Sam/always-a-girl!Daniel fic that I really, really want to do, because it just fills me with glee. :D On a reading note, I really want some Daniel-and-Teal'c friendship fic, because I think a bromance between them would be adorable. But yeah, what's with the ship war? Why can't they just have an SG-1 orgy and leave it at that?

Avengers/Marvel - I've been on a Marvel kick lately, and I've almost completely fallen for Steve/Tony. They're just so damn adorable and codependent. :D (I say this as an avid X-Men fan who was happily ignoring the Avengers until a few weeks ago. And, btw, Gambit/Rogue all way, with a bit of Logan/Rogue thrown in for fun.)*

White Collar - Elizabeth/Peter/Neal OT3 ALL THE WAY! They are just so adorable.

Leverage
- Hardison/Parker/Eliot OT3. Because they are so fucking cute. They're the reason I watch the show. <3 (It's certainly not for the Sophie/Nate angst. Ugh. Or the plot, for that matter, because I usually figure out a better way to do the damn job than they do.)

Criminal Minds
- I ship Reid/Anyone, and also JJ/Prentiss (DAMN YOU CBS). And JJ/Will, because they are adorable together. I haven't really got anything major planned, though there are some scraps that may turn into something floating around my computer. Somewhere. Oh, and the rest of the fics in the fashion mag!AU that I have half-completed. Because I'm just that lame. I haven't picked a main pairing yet, though there's some JJ/Will + baby adorableness in the one I'm almost done with.

....Um, I can't think of anything else. *thinks* Er, I'm kind of out of most of my anime fandoms (though I AM EAGERLY AWAITING THE SUPERNATURAL ANIME, fuckyes!) and I haven't read anything for them in a long, long time. There are some more fandoms that I'm on a read-only basis anyway, and I don't think anyone wants to hear me rant about Danny Phantom or Ben 10 or whatever. Ahem. Now that I'm done showing myself to be a complete dork.

* For an added level of dork to my family, my mom is a DC fan, while I'm a Marvel girl (though we both agree that Wonder Woman is hot, and Batman is awesome, and WTF is up with Superman in general - and also that Tony Stark is a woobie of great proportions, though I think I enjoy that more than she does).

Geekishness is a gift from the gods.

Oh, that's a lot of fandoms to be involved in O_o But we like that. And you have really good taste! (except for the fact that you ship Kirk and Bones ... what about Spock? Tsk tsk.) And oh, Merlin! I have only watched like ten episodes or something (and not even in chronological order) but it's so good. And so slashable.

I love Supernatural, but it's probably the only series I really, really like that I don't think is slashable. Sure, I've read a couple of Jared/Jensen fics but they were most meh, and there aren't any characters or actors that I want to ship. Though I haven't watched season four yet and I guess that's where Castiel and Misha appears (I had to spoil myself a little) so maybe that will change things.

When it comes to the other series the only ones I know something about are NCIS and SG-1. NCIS is probably my favourite among all criminal series because of the characters (love Abby and Ducky) but I haven't been lurking around in its fandom. And I watched SG-1 a long, long, long time ago and barely remember what it was about.

Hmm ...Reid, is that the skinny, geek-looking guy in Criminal Minds that is really smart but quite bad at socialising? The only reason I watched the show at all was because of that character ;)

long reply is really long....

Yeah, there are even more fandoms that I skirt around the edges of, but these were the ones that sprang to mind while typing. I'm kind of all over the place. I like nu!Kirk/Spock, just not as much as Kirk/McCoy. Plus, I pretty much like everyone/everyone, I just fail at writing any other combination.

Heh, Merlin. My process of watching most shows is as follows: 1) watch first five episodes. 2) read episode descriptions. 3) pick episodes according to what sounds most interesting at the moment. 4) read fic. There are still some Merlin episodes that I haven't gotten around to watching yet. (Heck, there are still some Criminal Minds episodes I haven't seen yet.)

The Merlin slash is so thick, some of the actors ship it. Which is hilarious. XD I think it's cute when actors get it like the fans do.

There's certainly a ton of Dean/Castiel shippers, and a lot of them are lovely people, but there's also a side of Sam-hate lurking in there. Not a complete, total amount, but some. Enough to turn me off, since I'm a Sam-girl through and through - even though Dean is my usual favorite character type - and people bashing him backs me hit the back button. (As for general slashiness, well, I plead the fifth. Ahem, I have what most people consider loose morals, so not a lot bothers me when it comes to Wincest. *shrugs* Each to their own.) I also kind of ship Sam/Castiel half-seriously, half-crack, because I think that the sheer awkwardness would be kind of adorable.

But, you're only at S4, so there are a lot of characters to cover: There's nu!Ruby (who is very different from blonde!Ruby), there's a rather nice one-off chick that shows an interest in Sam, there's canon Crowley/Bobby - yes, Crowley from Good Omens and that Bobby. :D It's actually kind of cute in a "omg, the parents are kissing, eeewwww" way. The Trickster returns to mess with the Winchesters some more, there are angels showing up left and right, and there's - well, I won't say anything in case I spoil you! :D But there is a ton of new characters to play around with, so you have your pick.

Plus, this fandom has some seriously awesome gen fics.

I'd say, from past experience, that about 70% of the NCIS fandom is pure crap, 17% of it is okay, and 3% is awesome. I fall into the 17% okay pile - sometimes I'm in the 70% awful category - and it takes some digging to find something you like. But then, what doesn't?

Yeah, Reid is the one who shouldn't be cute but is. ^.^ He's pretty slashable with anyone who comes with like, ten yards of him. And each pairing has a distinct dynamic, so it's pretty easy to find something to like. And, well, as an angst whore: he suffers really prettily. It helps that he gets kidnapped/whatever a lot. H/C is awesome. :D

long reply really was long O_o

Whut? Do some of the actors in Merlin ship it? Really? Omg, I've totally missed that. But on the other hand, I really don't know anything about Merlin except for that it's just awesome and that at least Bradley and Colin are doing some kind of video-diary thingy. But ... wow.

I don't hate Sam, but I don't love him either. He's just there, kind of cute and interesting in some episodes. But I'm totally a Dean-fangirl, so comparing to him Sam slips down quite a bit (Jensen Ackles played a part in Dark Angel which was one of the first series I really, really liked and he was my favourite character there so he has already a carved himself a place in my heart).

Crowley/Bobby sounds interesting ... ehrm. Gah, I must watch more!

I think I've never read any NCIS fics, which is quite an achievement considering that I at least read one or two fics from any book, movie or series that have more than one male character. I mean we have, Tony, who's played by a guy who's been in Dark Angel (seriously, I can't dislike any one of the actors who were in that one)and Gibbs and Ducky, and there we have THREE male characters!

My view of Criminal Minds goes like this: adorable, skinny guy who's awesome, stern looking, boring guy, stern looking, older, boring guy, awesome female computer-freak and those other characters that I can't even tell how many they are.

I'm kind of long winded when you get me going

I give you this as proof of the slashy commentary. It's kind of adorable.

I kind of feel the same way about Dean. I think it's just that I, surprisingly, identify with Sam so much. We have pretty similar personalities, both the good and the bad. Though I really do love Dean - he's badass and awesome, and you really need to catch up because, apparently, he once wore a girl's panties...and he liked it. XD (Though, I'd probably like him even more if all of his sex scenes didn't look like they were straight out of the Titanic, which, yeah, that's not really my thing.)

I've watched a few episodes of Dark Angel, but I couldn't really get into it. I think the science!fail gets in the way for me. I'd like to, but...

Tony DiNozzo is love. Michael Weatherly is love. XD Tony is more in line with my usual 'type' - snarky, kind of slutty, funny, smart, hot, with a big ball of angst that they nurse like a sore tooth.

*cough*NCIS fic*cough* Ahem. Self-rec.

Rambleness is good

Hahaha! The funniest part is that Bradley and Colin are trying to be quite serious and analyze things and the girls just "OMG, MOMENT! LOVE! HUG!".

My first series (that I can think of) that I really watched every episode of were Buffy and Dark Angel. Buffy is just ... epic and, for me, it's in a totally different level, so right now I'm pretending that Dark Angel was my first "real" show ;)

That's what I like with NCIS; there are so many interesting characters. Sure, they are almost too excentric, but it's the only crime show where I know the name of all the main characters, which must mean something.

My first real fandom was Beyblade, which a heavily censored kids' anime. That was the first show I ever wrote fanfic for. Admittedly, it was truly heinous fic, and I came to my senses after two pages, but still. I didn't really get into fic writing until Naruto. I've only recently been expanding outside of anime fandoms (I've been in fandom for...almost eight years now. Wow, I suddenly feel old, which is ridiculous.) for the past year. NCIS was my first fandom outside of anime. Star Trek XI came soon after, as did a bunch of other stuff. Now I can list fandom after fandom where I've writen a few sentences or read a few fics in.

NCIS was probably my first non-anime show. I've seen all of seasons one through six, but I haven't seen seven yet, and I don't think that's going to change anytime soon. :/ I'm not really digging the writing that I've seen so far.

The NCIS writers don't know when to use a sledge hammer vs a needle. It can be awkward at times as a viewer. :/

With Merlin, at the moment, I'm waiting for them to do the magic reveal. I know that the creators think that the tension is half of the show's dynamic, but I don't think so; I think that they're underestimating their own show. I can definitely think of ways to reveal Merlin's powers without crashing the plot or ruining the viewership. *shrug* But then, no one calls me for these things. XD :P

Bonding over geekishness is quite nice ^^

If we're talking about fandoms, my first one was Harry Potter. At least it was the first fandom I read fics in. Harry/Draco is still my OTP and I kind of created this lj just to be able to stalk my favourite HD authors better ;)

8 years is impressive! And you're probably quite young too, which makes it even more impressive.

Like I said, I really need to watch more episodes of Merlin, because right now I'm starting to spoil myself too much when I read various fics. And I don't want to take away all the fun in watching the show. Fandom is wonderful, but you kind of need the base it was built on too.

I used to love SG-1, but there was so much wank I had to leave the fandom. Sam/Daniel was pretty popular for a while, so you may be able to find some older fic, but eventually people mostly started to move it towards more of a sibling relationship with them to focus on S/J (which I hate, but whatever.)

However, the most hilarious fic I've read, ever, is Dr. Jackson's Diary by Anais. It's a bit tough to find, but it is buried on the web. I'll try to find the link if you're interested (just not while I'm at evil webpage blocking work). It's Daniel/Maj. Davis, Daniel/Jack, with Sam/Siler on the side.

I'd love to read Dr. Jackson's Diary if you can find the link! Thank you so much. :D

I knew that there'd be wank before I started watch, but it's still pretty bleh. I like her character; I like all the characters. One does not have to suffer for another ship to happen. :/ Besides, like I said, I'm not sure what's so special about Jack. Sam/Daniel FTW. Let the wondertwins (or whatever people call them) go off and be awesome, with Teal'c tagging along to be BFFs with with Daniel. I like Jack, yeah, but not enough to understand the wank.

But, well, my idea of solving shipping problems is to have OT3, OT4, or just plain orgies, so. :D

Hold it and cuddle it and love it, because it's hard to find in a search. I'm curious to know about your thoughts on Season 6. Because that's when the real wank started. It'd by nice to get a perspective of someone who wasn't there when it happened.

Thank you! *saves to read*

I haven't gotten to S6 yet, but I have a good idea of what's coming. I'm curious to see it though, since there's still a ton of residual wank and angst and fan-whining about it. It's going to be interesting to see....

Dude. DUDE! Fuck timelines! Be vague. Make them drunk. It'll work. Trust me. Misha needs to get on Jared. Or...you know...vice versa.

You know I'm just gonna keep poking you until I see some more ;)

...I may have to put aside my timeline obsession (just this once). I already know how I want to end it - porn, in Jared's trailer, with Jensen accidentally walking in and then running away because he really didn't want to see his BFF making out with his co-star. :P And because it's funny how DNW Jensen was about the t-shirt signing thing. (Lurking while looking at your fic. Boy I feel creepy.)

I think the SG-1 Sam!hate was due to several factors, one being her horrid character-introducing-dialogue in the pilot (not the actress; just the terrible writing of a woman character by what will always remain a boy's club of writers). The re-cut pilot is sooo much better. Then there's the third episode, "Emancipation," which was Sam's first real starring episode. It's quite atrocious. (That episode is the only episode of the series where fandom goes, "First rule about Emancipation: don't talk about Emancipation.")

Sam really got the short end of the stick early on.

And then the shipping with Jack started. (Which never made any sense to me, as they have zero sexual chemistry. They are pretty people, who care about each other a lot, but neither one is willing to give up their career. Besides the fact that, again, they would make a terrible couple. The writers then turned Carter all dewy-eyed in lurve in season four (and beyond), yet Jack remained nothing but meh the entire time. I loved Sam like I loved the rest of SG-1, but it always annoyed me the writers had her so focused on being with Jack. She was a better character than that.)

Anyway.

I think I just wanted to talk about SG-1.
