mad tom of bedlam

mad tom of bedlam - a sherlock vid from snowdarkred on Vimeo.

Song: Mad Tom of Bedlam
Artist: Charlene Kaye

Vidder's notes: I don't really have anything to add to this one. This is the first project I've competed (and liked) in the Sherlock fandom since I finished When the War Fires Fade, so huzzah! The song is glorious and gritty in all the right ways, and I think it fits the mood of the show perfectly. Charlene Kaye has a beautiful voice, and if you don't know who she is, I suggest you check out her youtube channel and gawk in wonder at her glory.

Wow, that is a really different take on a 400 year old poem. I've heard Mad Tom of Bedlam set to music several different ways and I've long been intrigued by it as a representation of attitudes towards mental illness and the treatment thereof, but that is just fascinating. Thanks for introducing me to this song!

Nicely done vid!

This is my favorite performance/reading/whatever of this poem. :3 And the fact that it's Charlene Kaye just makes it even better to me, because I am half in love with that woman. :D

Thank you! <3 I'm glad you liked it.

Oh, nice vid! It really fit the song.

And thanks for introducing me to Charlene Kaye. I had to look her up at Spotify, and wow, such a wonderful voice!

I'm so sorry that I haven't been more active and commented on your stuff these last weeks. I really planned to read those articles about that politician you linked me to, and then you wrote a poem and I was going to comment, but then life came in the way and I'm just lazy and bleh. Sorry :/

<3 She has a gorgeous voice; she's one of the few artists me and my mom agree on.

<3 It's totally okay; I haven't been very active on LJ at all, and I've had epic shit going on, so. *hugs* And the poem wasn't that good, so don't worry about it. :D *smooches*

Dear Heavens. You made a Sherlock video to a version of Mad Tom of Bedlam.

I think I love you.
